Nirmalagiri College Kuthuparamba, established in 1964, is an aided college affiliated to Kannur University. The college is reaccredited by NAAC with A++ Grade during the fourth cycle of accreditation in 2023. The college secured 86th position in the NIRF All India Rankings 2018 and 93rd position in 2019.

Envisioned by the illustrious leader, social reformer, and great educationist Padmabooshan Sri. Mannathu Padmanabhan and established in the year 1964, Pazhassi Raja NSS College (PRNSS) is one of the pioneering institutions of higher education in Kerala. Named after the great patriot, Sri. Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja, the martyr who stands unique among the rich array of freedom fighters, PRNSS College had started as a junior college on a beautiful hill near Mattanur with a campus sprawling over 105 acres, donated by Sri. MP Moidu Haji and generous members of the local civic community. Popularly known as Mattanur College, the PRNSS college is affiliated to the Kannur University and is accredited by NAAC. In addition to the UG Courses, the college also offers PG courses in Commerce and Mathematics. The PRNSS UAE Chapter of the Alumni Association was established in December 2016 with 200 members, and registered with AKCAF in 2023.
Sir Syed College, established in 1967 under the Cannanore District Muslim Educational
Association (CDMEA), was founded by educational visionaries to provide moral
and liberal education, especially to the socially and politically backward minority
communities of North Malabar. Named after Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, it began as a junior
college under the University of Kerala, later affi liating with the University of Calicut
(1968) and Kannur University (1996). Re-accredited by NAAC with an A, and accredited
by SAAC with A+ grades, the college is now one of the largest postgraduate institutions
under Kannur University, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
in various disciplines. Botany, Chemistry, and Commerce departments also serve as
research centres.

Vimal Jyothi Engineering College (VJEC) is a private engineering college located in Chemperi area of Kerala's Kannur District. The institution was founded in 2002. The college is affiliated with the prestigious APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Trivandrum, and has received accreditation from the All-India Council for Technical Education. In 2017, the VJEC Alumni UAE Chapter was established because of the bright concept of Mr. Rahees R, who wanted to bring his old classmates back together.
The UAE Chapter of VJEC Alumni developed a formal and vibrant identity under the leadership of Mr. Jince Mathew as President, Mr. Lijesh as Treasurer, and Mr. Jerin James as Secretary. The UAE Chapter has established its credibility throughout time by successfully planning numerous events in 2018, 2019, and 2022. Notably, the yearly event "Milan" has developed into a favorite one. It is scheduled to take place every final Sunday in November and promotes alumni solidarity, networking opportunities, and the development of the VJEC community in the UAE. By holding a private hiking outing for female members and a joint Iftar celebration for all members in 2023, the chapter broadened its horizons even further. With 335 devoted members, the chapter currently thrives under the experienced leadership of Mr. Jince Mathew as president, Mr. Vinod KA as treasurer, and Mrs. Majna Maryam as secretary.
Sree Narayana College, is a prominent higher education institution in Kannur District. It was founded under the leadership of the late R. Shankar, who was then the Chief Minister of Kerala. The college was inaugurated on July 6, 1960, and has grown from a junior college into a full-fledged postgraduate institution with research facility.
Affiliated with Kannur University, the college educates nearly 2,000 students across various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It is located on the tranquil Govardhan Giri campus, about 6 KM south of Kannur town. The college has significantly contributed to the educational, social, and cultural development of the district, earning a reputation for excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities.

The College of Engineering Thalassery (COET) is situated in Kundoormala, approximately 6.5 km from Thalassery Kerala. Established in 2000 under the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE), it is a government automotive engineering college. The College is affi liated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and offers B.Tech degrees in six disciplines: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology. In addition, the college provides M. Tech programs in Signal Processing and Manufacturing Systems and an MBA. COET offers modern laboratories, a library, hostels, transport, sports amenities, and provides Information Technology Central Computing facilities. Particularly noteworthy are its 25 acres hilltop campus strengthened by modern equipment and the NBA accreditation of Mechanical and Electrical departments which motivate Co-op students to pursue apprenticeships with Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and others, yielding a maximum of ₹9 LPA. Apart from lectures, COET organizes cultural and technical classes like Agnitus, IEEE activities, and NSS programs.
